Facebook stated Monday morning on their blog that it suspended about 200 apps due to their ongoing investigation caused by the Cambridge Analytica scandal regarding if services on Facebook had potentially misused people’s data.

Cambridge Analytica and it’s parent company, SCL are planning to close due to the controversy driving away its customers.

The number of suspended apps may continue to rise. Facebook has been sharing user data with third-party apps since its early days. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated Facebook will look into tens of thousands of apps that may have gathered large amounts of users’ personal information.

This audit will not solve the damage already done, and it may only increase the influence of the #DeleteFacebook campaign.
